SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) — Chatham County residents will hear a minute-long siren Wednesday, April 7, as part of Chatham EMA’s monthly emergency siren test.
According to Chatham EMA, Tybee Island residents will hear the siren at 11:30 a.m. while all Chatham County residents not on Tybee Island will hear the siren at noon.
The monthly test is necessary to ensure the county’s Emergency Warning Siren System is functioning properly.
In the event of poor weather conditions such as rain or overcast weather, the test will be rescheduled for Friday, April 9.
