Fueled by the region’s residential and port growth, state and local governments are pouring millions of tax dollars into infrastructure improvements. That means roadwork. Lots of it.
Using dollars from the statewide Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax fund, Chatham County is pursuing several transportation improvements, including repaving McCorkle Trail and adding sidewalks to U.S. 80 between Johnny Mercer Boulevard and Whitemarsh Island Way (more on those projects next week.)
