The Georgia Department of Transportation will be releasing their current plans for the expansion of the I-16 and I-95 ramps along with other expansion items.
State officials will host public meetings at 11 a.m. and at 4 p.m. Thursday at Garden City City Hall to discuss the project.
According to GDOT, these projects will “ease heavy traffic flow and enhance safety,” and according to their website, they propose the projects will reduce delays on Interstate 16 by 32% by 2030.
The project also includes the reconstruction of five bridges on I-16 between I-516 and I-95.
They’ll also be building a two-lane emergency-use ramp across the median between I-95 and Dean Forest Road to aid hurricane evacuations.
