Pooler resident Karen Williams has announced her intent to run for a seat on city council.
Williams is running on a platform advocating for responsible growth, term limits for mayor and city council members and more open communication between council and Pooler residents.
“I’ve been intricately involved with various aspects of the community for the past two years,” Williams said. “As a resident advocate, I attend all the Planning and Zoning meetings, City Council meetings, and this year, I started attending the school board meetings in an effort to keep residents informed.”
Background: Williams moved to Pooler with her husband three years ago after working multiple jobs in the legal field since college. She most recently worked as a real estate paralegal in Richmond Hill for 15 years.
Williams was born in New York and settled in Tampa, Florida, at an early age. She’s lived in numerous states, as well as Germany for 7 years. Williams said she was “a proud Army spouse for 31 years.”
